Brad McGoey

Brad McGoey is a lively multi-instrumentalist and multi-disciplinary artist whose work centers around creative repurposing, place-making, and community music. As a teacher, Brad specializes in providing fun and engaging music lessons for all ages, and loves working with people to develop skills and gain confidence as they embark on, or continue, their musical journeys.

Over his nearly 20 year career Brad has engaged with music in multiple ways, ranging from playing upbeat rock and roll covers in pubs to facilitating ukulele groups for older adults. He co-led a multi-generational community band in Toronto’s Regent Park, bringing together people from diverse backgrounds to connect, create music, and have fun. His travels took him and his guitar to several countries where he was able to connect with locals and communicate in the shared language of music. In 2019 he packed all of his musical instruments into a small trailer and dragged it by bicycle for 800km around Nova Scotia, performing music for people in unique locations to promote his second self-produced album. In 2021 he completed a Master of Arts in Community Music at Wilfrid Laurier. Currently he is running music sessions for babies and toddlers, and busking at farmers markets with his homemade and modified instruments.

Brad uses all of these experiences and perspectives to create unique and enjoyable music lessons, either one-on-one, or in a group setting. He looks forward to connecting with new students and growing his skills as a facilitator and community musician.
