Indi Tisoy Morales

Indi Tisoy Morales is a Colombian Canadian musician who has been playing the violin for almost as long as she can remember. Her love for performing classical music emerged from her very first ensemble experience, where she played in the violin section of the Junior String Orchestra at the Maritime Conservatory of Performing Arts in Halifax, Nova Scotia.

Currently, Indi is in her second year of pursuing a Bachelor of Music at Dalhousie University’s Fountain School of Performing Arts, where she studies violin performance with Dr. Leonardo Perez. Indi is not only very active in the music community of the Fountain School, participating in the Dalhousie Symphony Orchestra and the Dalhousie Jazz Ensemble, she also frequently plays in a variety of ensembles throughout the province, such as the Nova Scotia Youth Orchestra, the baroque ensemble of the Halifax Institute of Traditional and Early Music, the Los Primos Satellite Band Project, and the Nova Scotia Youth Jazz Orchestra.

Throughout the past couple of years, Indi has received Suzuki pedagogical training and has completed levels 1-3 of Suzuki violin as well as the “Every Child Can!” course exploring the philosophy of Dr. Suzuki. Indi has experience teaching private violin and piano lessons, music theory and coaching string orchestra and chamber ensembles.

When she is not playing violin, Indi enjoys practicing other instruments such as her alto and tenor saxophones, piano, ukulele and traditional Chinese Erhu. Her interests outside of music include drawing, painting and videography.
