The Cello Ensemble Experience
Launching this fall, the Ekko Cello Ensemble is designed for intermediate teen and adult cellists who are eager to deepen their skills through ensemble playing. It offers a space to explore rich and varied cello repertoire, refine musicianship, and build connections with other passionate players—all within a supportive and inspiring environment.
Led by an experienced ensemble coach, the program features chamber-style arrangements spanning classical pieces, film scores, and contemporary works. Rehearsals focus on ensemble blend, musical expression, and performance technique, while group warmups and targeted coaching help fine-tune tone, rhythm, and articulation. Participants will also have opportunities to perform in Ekko showcases and community concerts throughout the season.
A Chamber Experience for Intermediate Cellists
This ensemble is ideal for players comfortable with first through fourth position, who have solid note-reading skills and can contribute confidently in a group setting. It’s a place to strengthen ensemble and performance skills, expand your musical repertoire and interpretive ability, and stay motivated through regular rehearsals and shared goals. Most importantly, it’s a space to enjoy the camaraderie and joy of making music with others.
1
Introductory Masterclass
Students will be introduced to the work of the singing actor by preparing a song specially selected for their level of experience and training. Class will cover individual coaching on interpretation of both the text and the score in a group setting and prepares each student for a thorough understanding of the craft of musical theatre. In addition, group work on ensemble numbers forms the foundation of singing as a chorus.
2
Ensemble Masterclass
Dive into the art of ensemble performance - exploring what it truly looks and feels like to perform with others. Through focused work on duets and trios, you'll develop the skills to navigate shared performance space with clarity, connection, and confidence.
